(A)round forms, cycles and motives

— filed under:

This conference is on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Albrecht Pfister. The "Round forms" in the title refer to Albrecht Pfister's groundbreaking work in quadratic form theory at the end of the 60s. Contrary to some rumor (which led us to the first announcement of this conference) round forms have not been introduced by Albrecht Pfister himself. These forms are Ernst Witt's afterthoughts of Albrecht Pfister's famous (strongly) multiplicative forms which are nowadays called Pfister forms. This conference is supported by the SFB/Transregio 45 Bonn-Essen-Mainz of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
