Purity of critical cohomology and Kac's conjecture

We provide a new proof of the Kac conjecture for an arbitrary quiver Q. We use the fact that the (nilpotent) critical CoHA for a quiver with potential built from Q is supercommutative and free, and an easy purity result, which implies purity of the space of generators of this critical CoHA.
