Stefan MüllerStach: Perioden und Nori Motive (14:1515:45)
KontsevichZagier Periods are the ring of periods of algebraic varieties over number fields.
We
give an introduction to those numbers and show how one can use Nori's
abelian category of mixed motives to get some structure into this set.
Peter Scholze: Titel: padic etale cohomology of padic spaces (16:1517.45)
For a rigidanalytic variety X over a padic field, finiteness statements for the ladic etale cohomology, with l not equal to p, are available since the work of Berkovich and Huber. However, for padic coefficients such statements are often false, due to the presence of many ArtinSchreier type covers. However, using methods from padic Hodge theory, finiteness has now been proved for proper X. The methods of the proof also apply to the LubinTate tower (which is far from proper!) if formulated carefully. The resulting padic cohomology groups of the LubinTate tower should conjecturally see the padic local Langlands correspondence, just as the ladic cohomology sees the classical local Langlands correspondence. We will try to give an idea of the techniques used to establish these finiteness results.
