Abstract. I will present recent results obtained jointly with Th. Bauer, A. Knutsen and W. Syzdek concerning bounds on Seshadri constants on algebraic surfaces in arbitrary points and in very general points. In particular I will show a new lower bound on the self-intersection of moving singular curves and discuss its applications. This new bound generalizes inequalities obtained earlier by Ein-Lazarsfeld and Xu.
