We define the class in étale cohomology of a section of the Galois group of the base field k into the arithmetic fundamental group of a variety defined over k. An étale adaptation of Beilinson's geometrization of the pronilpotent completion of the topological fundamental group allows us to lift this class in a suitable cohomology group.
